Burma, renamed Myanmar in 1989, is a beautiful country with mysterious caves, floating gardens and some of the most important and sacred sites of Buddhism. Taking the former name of this spiritually historic country, Burmese Kush is a flavorful Hybrid strain created to be a perfect mix of Sativa and Indica. A travel destination all it’s own, Burmese Kush will take you on a journey of relaxation and happiness that will quickly make it one of your new favorites.
About the Plant
Burmese Kush, a product of OG Kush and Burmese Indica, was created in the Netherlands, where it holds the nickname BuKu. This potent Hybrid became a hit and was one of High Times top ten strains in 2007.
Plants of this strain reach a height of around 36 inches and flower at 7-8 weeks. Buds are small to medium-sized and dense, sage green with hints of purple and adorned with fiery amber hairs. The Indica/Sativa ratio is very even, at almost 50%/50%, and carries a 21.95% THC content.
The aroma of Burmese Kush is a pleasant mix of earthy pine and sweet, making you feel as though you’re about to venture into a forest surrounded by pine and berries. The complex taste is just as enjoyable, you can expect light earth and pine accompanied by citrusy grapefruit and lemon flavors, with a sweet berry finish. You can expect a smooth hit from this strain.
Effects of Burmese Kush
The effects are generally slow to hit, but once they do, they are strong and long-lasting. You will feel relaxed and happy, with euphoric and uplifted feelings, and a fun case of the giggles might occur. As time passes, the calm high originally felt transforms into feelings of supreme relaxation. At this point, you might feel sleepy, which is what makes this strain best for evening use.
The mental and physical relaxation accompanied by an uplifted mood makes Burmese Kush a good strain to help with mental health. Those with depression, stress, anxiety and Bipolar disorder will find this strain beneficial in creating both euphoric and calm feelings. Patients who struggle with insomnia or restlessness will find the relaxation from this strain useful in calming the mind and getting a good night’s rest.
This strain can also assist with relief from pain, including pain from an injury, as well as muscle spasms. Burmese Kush can help patients with a variety of health conditions including nausea control and increased appetite.
